D1896

D1896 is an action adventure platformer in the style of early horror movies, inspired specifically by "Le Manoir Du Diable", the first horror movie ever made (released in 1896).

The story is loosely based on Georges Melies' 3-minute film "Le Manoir Du Diable", Bram Stoker's novel Dracula, and Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.

What D1896 Is

D1896 has battles with enemies and bosses, traps and platforms, puzzles and mazes, and long dialogues with NPCs.

What D1896 Isn't

D1896 is not a metroidvania. It has no colors, no HP bars, no RPG elements, only one weapon and no items. It features piano-only music with no voice acting. The game is short and hard, with no optional content besides one secret boss.
