Overview

Inspired by the legendary SHARK! SHARK! game released for the Intellivision home console in 1982, this reimagined version offers modern and addictive gameplay with fantastic graphics, great sounds, lots of levels, and many underwater characters. You can also play the original 1982 Intellivision version included.

Gameplay

You control a fish with the goal of earning as many points as possible while staying alive. Swimming around you are other fish of various sizes, lobsters, crabs, jellyfish, kraken, puffer fish, orca, electric eel, and sharks. You can eat any fish smaller than you, but larger fish will eat you. The shark can be defeated by nibbling its tail several times, but it turns quickly. When shells on the bottom open, collect the pearls inside for points. Each time you eat or score, your fish grows larger, allowing you to eat more fish on screen.

History

The original SHARK! SHARK! was developed by Don Daglow and Ji-Wen Tsao (the world's first female game console programmer). It was selected by the National Game Preservation Board as one of the best video games for permanent maintenance in the United States Library of Congress National Game Registry, alongside Space Invaders, Pac-Man, and Donkey Kong.
