
Doomguy finds himself on a bridge in front of a gate to some kind of hellish fortress, with no recollection of how he ended up there, and with no way back. Acting on instinct and routine, he collects resources, slaughters demons, finds keys, and opens a door that leads into a dark, malodorous passage covered in mad, leering faces … before being spat out in a new location, with no equipment, and with more monsters bearing down on him.
