Kickstarted by a Game Jam

This game has been something we've wanted to make for many years, but weren't quite sure what kind of game it should be. We joined the 9th Metroidvania Month game jam over on itch.io and created the beginning of this project. If you'd like a taste of what's to come, you can play the jam version for free!

About the Game

15 years after a toxic miasma covered the planet, an experimental Chibit is activated. He must discover who he is, where he came from and what has become of the world.

Chibits is a 2D action adventure set on an abandoned, decaying world. Travel through a charred forest, large factory and run down cities as you collect upgrades and battle the relics that were left behind. Piece together the puzzle of why the planet was left to ruin, all while befriending scrappy robots and maybe even find a way to make contact with your creators.

• Explore a large, open-ended world with interconnected areas and tight controls
• Collect power-ups that increase your power and survivability, plus some special abilities
• Meet many unique characters on your adventure while battling corrupt machines and mutated creatures
