With the help of a talented team of coders, a custom emulator has been constructed in order to restore Dendron 64 to its former glory, and finally share the game with the public.
The goal of the Dendron 64 Recovery Project has been to revive a long-since-abandoned N64 game developed during the 1990s.
After development for the game was initially halted,** Dendron** quickly slipped into obscurity. However, with guidance from one of the game's developers (Evelyn Beck), once-unfinished sections have now been completed and the original charm of both Dendron's story and its colourful cast of characters has been restored, breathing new life into what would have otherwise remained lost.
Dendron follows the story of a deer living in a quiet, isolated valley, known only as "the Spillway". Waking up to find all of your friends missing, your journey takes you to the deepest corners of the valley, uncovering your fellow townsfolks' darkest secrets along the way as you search for your friends' whereabouts. But be careful: a greater darkness lies beyond the stone walls that close ever-inwards around you.
Part of the** Dendron 64 Recovery Project** has involved the development of a custom-made emulator, specially designed to run Dendron. To grant the player more control over their playing experience, the emulator comes equipped with its own console. The console will stay open while running** Dendron**, and will allow you to adjust settings such as the music and sound effect volumes.
The console will open first upon booting the game. A broad range of commands is available, but to begin playing** Dendron**, you will need to enter the "launch dendron64" command. This will open the game in a separate window.
Additionally, while it cannot be accessed in-game, the emulator console offers a "load tutorial" command, which while** Dendron** is open will allow you to access a separate tutorial level. It is recommended to play through the tutorial if you have not played** Dendron** before.
