Forest Doesn't Care is a mushroom-picking simulator set in a realistic forest environment. Players explore the woodland area to forage for mushrooms while encountering secrets and unusual findings. The game features atmospheric elements and emphasizes the indifferent nature of the forest setting during gameplay.
Thank you to everyone who supported the game and helped us launch the big December Update. Your energy keeps us going — seriously, we appreciate every one of you. ❤️ Now let’s talk about what’s coming next.
In the upcoming weeks, we’ll focus on polishing everything we’ve added: fishing, survival, the hunger system, new items, and the updated progression. Our goal is to make all mechanics stable, smooth, and enjoyable.
Over the next few days, we’ll update the game’s localization: fix inaccuracies, add translations for new content, and clean up the overall text quality. Thank you to everyone who pointed out errors — your attention really helps.
There is now a REPORT BUG button in the pause menu — please use it. The more we know about bugs and weird behavior, the faster we can fix them. Your feedback truly makes a difference.
To be completely honest: the entire game is being developed by just two guys. We put everything we have into this project, but we physically can’t keep the same pace as big studios — and we really appreciate your patience and support.
If you’re an artist, animator, programmer, sound designer, or simply an enthusiast who wants to help — reach out. We’re open to people who feel connected to the game’s atmosphere and want to join a small indie project that grows together with its community.
Expect weekly patches with fixes, optimizations, and small improvements. Once we stabilize the December Update, we’ll announce the date of the next major update.
There is only you, the raw wilderness — and whatever happens to you. Once, this was a calm game about walking and picking mushrooms. Now it’s a living system, where weather, sound, animals, and random events can change everything.
The game was made by just two people. Brought to life — by thousands. The forest doesn’t care. But you shouldn’t be indifferent.
No artificial paths, no "game zones". Only real terrain, dense thickets, swamps, stumps, and natural routes shaped by nature itself.
Piercing fog, cold rain, and nights where you hear more than just the wind.
Camping, hunting, fishing, gathering resources, inventory, cold, hunger, exhaustion — and moments of absolute peace.
This isn’t a horror game, but sometimes the forest behaves as if it has a will of its own.
Walk together, survive together, argue by the campfire, hide from the rain, laugh when someone slips into the river. The forest doesn’t care.
Birds, crunching branches, wind… and that distant “something” that makes you want to turn around.
It simply throws you into the wild — and watches what you’ll do.
If you want to explore, survive, get lost, find something unexplainable, or just sit on a stump and watch the fog — this game is for you.
This game is not just an atmospheric walk through the forest and mushroom collecting—it is also an experiment with the modern capabilities of Unreal Engine 5. I used procedural generation, Nanite, Lumen, textures up to 8–16 K, and a vast amount of geometry to recreate the most alive and detailed nature.
This is a fully solo project made from scratch. For me, this game is proof that even one person can realize a dream using modern tools. If you’ve ever dreamed of making games too—don’t be afraid, start making them!
