Their status effects work differently depending on if you play them at allies or enemies. Do you want to shield your ship, or contain and prevent attacks from a specific enemy? Do you use fuel to accelerate a friendly or to set an opponent on fire? Should your carriers deploy fighters to strafe targets, or send them to guard your own vessels?
