Isleward is a multiplayer roguelike currently in development by Big Bad Waffle. The game is based around forming a party and exploring different islands, spelunking and completing dungeons in search of treasure. Strengthening your character through looting better equipment and leveling up is also an integral part of the process!

Set sail from the starting island of Fjolarok and explore the vast world of Isleward. Delve through dungeons, take on challenging world bosses and dynamic events, or kick back by the sea shore, catching fish.
Isleward is a living game with a vibrant community, seasonal events to look forward to every few months, and more content, small and large, being released in-between.
Participate in Leagues to shake up the rules of the game and get a fresh start with some additional challenge.
When you create a character, you first choose your guardian animal Spirit. Will you pick the mighty Bear, a spirit fit for a warrior? Or perhaps the agile Lynx is more to your liking? If you are the spellcasting type, the Owl will suit you nicely!
Your choice of Spirit determines your starting point on the large passive skill tree. As you level-up, you gain points to spend on the tree, to take your character in the direction and playstyle you desire.
Your playstyle is also influenced by Runes, items that grant you the ability to use skills and cast spells when equipped. As you get stronger, you will be able to slay more challenging enemies, and even bosses, obtaining more gear and runes in the process.
Powerful Idols are scattered across the land, waiting to be found and used to further enhance and perfect your equipment.
Isleward features a thriving player-driven economy. If your loot isn’t to your liking, it might be just what another adventurer needs, so why not trade it for new gear or Idols?
Trading isn't the only way to be a part of the community. Spar with other players to make long-lasting enemies, group up with others to make clearing dungeons easier and form or join Crews for those longer-lasting friendships.
The community extends beyond the game and Discord. Isleward runs on a custom open-source engine built by its creators. Both the engine and the game have been in development since 2016. Being open-source, anyone can contribute and help shape it toward its full potential.
