In Maledictum (1–4 co-op), you’re not a ghost hunter you’re an Investigator of Guilt. Identify the entity, uncover the victim/culprit/cause, and decide a final ritual to free or condemn a spirit that reacts to your voice.
Maledictum is a 1–4 player co-op horror investigation game: identify the entity, uncover the victim/culprit/cause through story evidence, then perform a final ritual to free or condemn the spirit while it reacts to your voice and choices.
In Maledictum, you’re not a ghost hunter chasing random apparitions. You’re an Investigator of Guilt.
Every haunting is the aftermath of something human betrayal, cruelty, sacrifice, silence. The presence in the dark isn’t “just evil.” It’s an echo of a truth someone tried to bury. Your job isn’t only to survive the night… it’s to reconstruct what happened and decide what should happen next.
Each contract has two layers of investigation:
1) Identify the entity Use classic investigative tools and paranormal evidence to determine what is haunting the location.
2) Solve the Case of Guilt Piece together the full tragedy behind the haunting:
To uncover the truth, you’ll search the house for story-driven evidence: letters, photos, diaries, reports, and disturbing details that reshape the case as you go.
The entity doesn’t just “patrol.” It responds to your progress.
Maledictum features proximity voice chat, and the entity reacts to what it hears:
Maledictum is built for replayability.
At launch, the game features 5 locations and 50 unique story cases, with multiple variants per case. The narrative system is randomized per contract based on rules so the same house can hide a different truth next time.
No two investigations should feel identical.
Once you think you’ve solved the case, you’ll perform a ritual and make a decision:
Every choice has consequences and being wrong has consequences too. If your conclusions don’t match the truth, the ritual can backfire, the haunting can escalate, and escaping alive may become your only goal.
