Step into Mythaera - a fractured land where forgotten myths bleed into the living world. From ancient tombs to quiet village farms, a creeping darkness twists fate and hunger follows in its wake. Whether you seek riches, mastery, or peace, the realm continues - with or without you.
NPCs have jobs, needs, personal lives, and problems. They eat, work, steal, fight, bargain, sleep, get drunk, and the world keeps moving whether you log in or not.
Every inhabitant follows a deep layered behavioural system called the Emergence Engine. No magical spawns, no on-rails scripting. NPCs react to hunger, danger, wealth, reputation, your choices, and their goals. NPCs continue living their lives whether you are online or not.
A dungeon run is a gamble. Find an exit and keep what you've acquired or push deeper for greater rewards. If you fall, the dungeon keeps every item you risked bringing inside.
Explore handcrafted rooms stitched into endless layouts, filled with puzzles, dangers, stories, and loot.
Tools matter. Loadouts matter. Tactics matter. Know what you're up against and adjust. Stances, weapon types, spells, and consumables. Your success will be determined by not only your skill levels, but also by your preparation, resource management and knowledge of the lore.
Discover spell words and type incantations to cast them. Combine reagents to make custom potions, combine incantation words to make custom spells, and discover rituals which must be typed correctly to unlock deeper power. Experimentation is rewarded or punished.
Resources are gathered, goods are made, wealth is accumulated and scarcity has consequences. Whether you're forging steel or farming turnips, every item has value and provenance.
There are no fixed classes. You become what you practice. Swordsmanship, cooking, lockpicking, enchanting. Your playstyle writes your character sheet.
Mythologous features a full original score, ambient soundscapes, and SFX that respond to the world, from rustling forests to echoing crypts.
Play independently or bring companions with skills you lack. Build trust with NPCs who fight beside you, using magic to raise your own squad from the Otherworld, or team up with other players.
Rooted in Celtic mythology yet reimagined into a living, unified world, Mythaera brings together legends and beings from across the Celtic cultures.
