Retro Wars combines classic arcade shooter action with battlefield survival gameplay focused on movement, positioning, and controlling overwhelming enemy attacks. Success depends on advancing carefully through hostile territory, using cover and positioning to survive enemy fire, managing enemy pressure from multiple directions, choosing the right moments to attack or retreat, and reacting instantly to rapidly changing battlefield situations.
Battlefields descend into chaos as waves of enemy infantry, armored vehicles, and heavy weapons flood the screen. Fight back using a powerful arsenal of weapons and explosives while navigating increasingly dangerous combat zones packed with enemy fire, ambushes, and constant pressure.
Captured soldiers are scattered throughout enemy territory. Rescuing them while under heavy attack adds another layer of battlefield tension and risk, forcing players to balance survival against aggressive rescue opportunities.
