At first, we thought Xiaoshu was a character we created, but by the time the script was completed, we realized that he is actually a projection of our own inner emotions. As we sketched out the characters' destinies, we were also weaving our own paths of growth.
"Tree's Love Crossing Above" is not a conventional romance-themed FMV game. While preserving the emotional core, we have incorporated more reflections on life and destiny. We are well aware that our hardware capabilities simply can't compete with high-investment commercial games. However, we firmly believe that it is sincere emotion that truly touches people's hearts.
As the first domestic BL-themed FMV game, we were under immense pressure. The original inspiration for creating "Tree's Love Crossing Above" came from a simple idea: to use the imagery of a tree to interpret the complex emotional connections between people. In fact, fate is like the branches of a tree; the direction in which they extend is determined by destiny. When many such branches come together, they form an intricate canopy, interwoven like a grid, filled with intersections of fate.
We aim to craft a love story that blends a romantic essence with realistic entanglements, allowing players to fully immerse themselves in the interactive experience while resonating with authentic emotional reflections. For this story, we have dedicated tremendous effort. While most FMV game scripts are completed within a few months, we spent several times longer meticulously polishing every detail. We have always held onto a steadfast belief: once we choose this path, we will see it through to the end. While our lack of experience may lead to imperfections, we would rather spend an extra year relentlessly refining every detail than compromise on quality. As the creators often say: "Even if we can't achieve perfection, we won't allow regrets — we must exhaust every effort to leave nothing undone."
This game still bears many marks of inexperience, and we are acutely aware of its shortcomings. However, these experiences are guiding the development of the sequel. We hope that through this series, we can bring more possibilities to FMV games—not just romance, but also richer expressions about life, choices, and growth.
