Unbeliever

Overview

Unbeliever is an action game focused on struggling and the unbending will of those who try. You are urged to face the challenge of pushing through and conquering your obstacles.

Gameplay

This is an action rather than a platform game and an experiment on 2D combat mechanics. Each fight requires a unique approach. You can dodge, push enemies back, burn them, or send them back through time. The efficiency of your powers depends on your character development choices and what path you choose to specialize on.

Story and Progression

You start with nothing and fight your way to the top. As you progress, you recall your memories and regain your powers. The story is explained through memories you unlock by making progress. Your ultimate goal: find the Unbeliever that killed the Old Gods and get your memory back.

Character Development

How you develop your character is entirely up to you. There are 7 different stats you can invest in:

• Health: The amount of pain you can stand
• Power: The potential to cast spells and tumble
• Attack: The damage you deal with regular attacks
• Technique: Defines your attack speed, jump distance, and dodge distance
• Hatred: Offensive spells increase in damage
• Guilt: Affects trick spell parameters
• Defiance: Affects the most powerful and rare spells

You gain spells and experience to upgrade your stats. There are at least 5 secrets in each map that reward you with XP (called "fragments").
