Canyons Trades the Apocalypse for a Desert of Crawlers and Blood Pacts
RedRuins Softworks and HypeTrain Digital bring a four-player co-op extraction shooter where you pilot giant Crawlers and rebuild civilization.
Forget bunkers and irradiated subways. Canyons drops its post-apocalypse into a sun-scorched wasteland of towering ravines, carved out decades after the oceans collapsed and left nothing but endless storms behind.
It is the new third-person co-op shooter from RedRuins Softworks, the team behind Breathedge, published by HypeTrain Digital. The game surfaced again at The MIX Summer Game Showcase, the indie-focused digital showcase held during Summer Game Fest 2026 week.
Massive Scale and Survival Challenges#
The hook is its scale. You and up to three friends fight to survive a living world stalked by monstrous creatures called the Awakened, hostile factions like the Marauders and the Diesel Cult, and weather that does not care about your loadout.
To push back, you command massive walking machines called Crawlers, scavenge loot, and build out a settlement for the survivors you rescue along the way.
Gameplay Blend and Features#
It is part looter-shooter, part base-builder, part cooperative survival, with a moral choice system that promises consequences for the Blood Pacts you forge to stay alive.
Playable solo or in four-player co-op PvE, Canyons features procedurally generated environments that keep each run feeling fresh and dangerous.

Platforms and Release Outlook#
Canyons is confirmed for PC. RedRuins has signaled PlayStation 5 ambitions too, though that has not been locked in. No release window has been dated yet.
This ambitious survival shooter looks to combine exploration, base building, and intense co-op action in a striking post-apocalyptic setting. Fans of cooperative experiences should watch for more updates from RedRuins Softworks.
