Deadlock's Massive 850-Line Patch Overhauls Movement, Items, and Roster
Valve's latest update focuses on buffs rather than nerfs, arriving just six weeks after the previous major patch

Major Movement and Map Changes#
According to PCGamesN, Valve has released a massive Deadlock patch containing more than 850 lines of changes, arriving just six weeks after the Old Gods, New Blood update. The patch introduces fundamental changes to movement mechanics, allowing players to jump while sliding with increased air control for 0.25 seconds.
Two new neutral camps have been added to the map, each containing two normal and three weak foes. The update also adjusts shrine difficulty, making the first shrine kill easier while increasing the second shrine's challenge with a 2,000-soul bounty. Troopers in the middle lane now upgrade when either shrine falls instead of waiting for both to be destroyed.

Economy and Late-Game Adjustments#
A new tier-one spirit item called Golden Goose Egg costs 800 souls and grants +1m sprint speed, +1 out-of-combat regen, and a 10% damage penalty. The item's value increases by 75 souls per minute held, with permanent buffs granted for each 200 souls stored.
Late-game changes include super troopers receiving a damage boost from 40% to 60%, and a zipline-boosted wave of creeps now spawns after killing base guardians. At the 35-minute mark, the minion wave gap shortens from 25 seconds to 20 seconds. The Mid Boss has also been made more resilient.
Street Brawl mode sees the removal of its item slot limit, meaning players never need to sell items in the final round.
Roster-Wide Buffs#
PCGamesN notes that the update "feels very focused on buffing underperforming Deadlock characters and items to bring them up, rather than nerfing too many of the heavy hitters." Nearly the entire roster receives adjustments, with notable exceptions like nerfs to Silver's Lycan Curse transformation.
Are these changes enough to shake up the current meta, or will the top picks remain dominant?
