Pokemon Go March 2026 Events: Scorbunny Community Day and Pokopia Crossover
Niantic lines up raids, spotlight hours, and a 30th anniversary celebration
7 March 2026
What's Coming in March#
Niantic has revealed the full event schedule for Pokémon Go in March 2026, according to GameSpot. The month features several major events, including a Community Day starring Scorbunny, a crossover with Pokémon Pokopia, and activities celebrating Pokemon's 30th anniversary. It's shaping up to be one of the busier months in recent memory, with something for both casual players and hardcore collectors.
Scorbunny Community Day#
The monthly Community Day will spotlight Scorbunny, the Fire-type starter from Pokemon Sword and Shield. Players will have increased opportunities to catch Scorbunny and evolve it during the event window, likely with the usual six-hour format that's become standard for these events.
For those who've been holding off on building a competitive Cinderace, this is your moment. Community Day exclusive moves have historically made or broken Pokemon in both PvP and raid scenarios, so expect Cinderace's final evolution move to be worth the grind. Scorbunny also marks the first Galar starter to get the Community Day treatment in 2026, which could signal that Sobble and Grookey aren't far behind.
If you're shiny hunting, Community Days remain one of the most reliable ways to add rare variants to your collection. The boosted shiny rates during these events typically hover around 1 in 25, compared to the standard 1 in 500 for most wild encounters.
Pokopia Crossover Event#
Pokemon Go is hosting a crossover event with Pokopia, bringing themed content and special encounters to the game. Details on exclusive Pokemon and event bonuses will be revealed closer to the event date.
Crossover events have become a regular fixture in Pokemon Go's calendar, often introducing region-exclusive Pokemon to a global audience or debuting costumed variants that won't return for months (or years). If Pokopia follows the pattern of previous collaborations, expect special field research, themed avatar items, and possibly timed research that rewards encounters with Pokemon tied to the Pokopia brand.
These events also tend to shake up the spawn pool significantly. Even if you're not particularly invested in the crossover theme itself, the change in available Pokemon can be a welcome break from the usual rotation.
Raid Bosses and Spotlight Hours#
March's raid rotation will introduce new bosses to five-star and mega raids throughout the month. Weekly Spotlight Hours will continue, offering focused spawns and bonuses for specific Pokemon species.
Raid rotations are where the endgame players really pay attention. Five-star raids typically feature legendary or mythical Pokemon, and March could bring back fan favorites or debut something new entirely. Mega raids remain essential for players building up Mega Energy, especially for Pokemon that see heavy use in raids or PvP formats.
Spotlight Hours, meanwhile, are perfect for stocking up on candy and stardust. The one-hour windows every Tuesday evening focus on a single species with doubled catch candy, evolution XP, stardust, or transfer candy depending on the week. If you've been putting off evolving something that requires 100+ candies, Spotlight Hours with the right bonus can cut your grinding time significantly.
30th Anniversary Celebration#
The game will mark Pokemon's 30th anniversary with in-game festivities. Niantic typically uses milestone celebrations to introduce rare spawns, special research tasks, and limited-time bonuses.
Pokemon's 30th anniversary is a massive deal for the franchise as a whole, and Pokemon Go has historically gone all-out for major milestones. Past anniversary events have featured the debut of shiny legendaries, special research storylines with guaranteed rare encounters, and increased spawn rates for Pokemon that are normally difficult to find in the wild.
Expect nostalgia to play a big role here. Kanto Pokemon, particularly the original starters and iconic species like Pikachu and Eevee, tend to dominate anniversary celebrations. There's also a strong chance Niantic will bring back legacy moves or offer Elite TMs as rewards, giving players a shot at movesets that have been unavailable for years.
If you're a completionist, anniversary events are usually when you'll want to stock up on raid passes and incubators. Limited-time research often requires hatching eggs or completing raids, and the rewards are typically worth the investment.
Are you planning to participate in any of March's events, or are you waiting to see what April brings?
