Overview
LumenTale: Memories of Trey is a monster collector RPG developed by Beehive Studios. Players follow Trey, who has lost his memories, as he journeys through the enchanting land of Talea. He collects and battles with mystical creatures called Animon while uncovering the secrets behind his past and the world's mysteries.
Animon are magical creatures that inhabit the world of Talea. They are beings made of Anivis, a special energy that flows through everything. Each Animon possesses one of 13 elemental types and belongs to one of 5 core attributes (Felicis, Mestus, Furor, Horrens, and Sereum), which are tied to different emotions and determine their role and personality in battle.
You play as Trey, a young cyborg who wakes up with no memories in Dr. Kapan's laboratory after being found unconscious in the Scarlet Woods. Despite his amnesia, Trey quickly shows a natural affinity for the Holoken device and the world of Animon. His journey is one of self-discovery as he travels across Talea, forms bonds with Animon, and pieces together his mysterious past.
You can capture, train, battle, and form deep bonds with them. As you progress, your Animon will level up, learn new skills, evolve into stronger forms, and help you uncover the secrets of Talea alongside Trey.

Your First Animon
Early in the game, after a short tutorial sequence, Dr. Kapan guides you through a psychotechnical test (a personality-like questionnaire). Your answers help the game suggest a starter Animon that best matches your style. However, you are completely free to choose any of the five available options, regardless of the recommendation.

First Animons#
You get to choose from five starter Animon, each tied to different attributes and elements:
Mewaii β Virus type (Felicis attribute).
Vortail β Aura type (Mestus attribute).
Ozelash β Electric type (Furor attribute).
Salabel β Demon type (Horrens attribute).
Queccha β Geo type (Sereum attribute).
Dr. Kapan will suggest a starter Animon based on the test mentioned above.

These starters represent different play styles and emotional attributes that influence their roles in battle. Pick the one that appeals to you most. You can always catch others soon after.
Quests
The game features a mix of main quests and secondary quests. Main quests drive the central story forward and are mandatory to progress through the narrative and unlock new areas. Secondary quests are optional but highly recommended. They provide extra rewards, help you discover more Animon, and deepen your connection to the world and its inhabitants.

Resting and Crafting
Scattered throughout Talea are magical Fountains. These serve as healing points where you can fully restore your Animon's health and status. At fountains, you can also craft items and cook food to boost your team. Recipes can be found while exploring the world or purchased in the first city, Arsilia. Experiment with ingredients to create powerful buffs and healing items.
Resting also allows skipping time to next morning, evening or night.

You can experiment and try to discover new recipes, or craft them after you purchase from Talea vendors.

Fighting
Combat is turn-based and depends on stats like Agility to determine turn order. Before starting a fight you can choose how many Animon to bring into battle, which helps manage risks against super-effective attacks.

Scanning:#
Spend a turn to scan an enemy Animon. This reveals weaknesses, resistances, current stat modifiers, attribute, and type.

TP Actions#
Landing super-effective moves builds TP (Technique Points), granting an extra attack. The fewer Animons you bring to battle, the fewer TP points required to trigger a TP Action.

Holoken#
Use your Holoken and your Animon's elemental skills to break boxes, destroy obstacles in the world, instantly defeat weak wild Animon, or weaken them before combat starts.
Capturing
You can capture wild Animon in the open world or during battles using Bilia Balls. Success rate increases when the target is at low health. Capturing often requires following timed button sequences.
If you donβt get the right sequence, the Animon will attack you.
But if you get it right, the Animon will be captured.
Stats and Skills
Every time an Animon levels up, it gains stat points that you can freely assign. You can customize their growth by investing in HP, Attack, Special Attack, Defense, Special Defense, Agility, and other attributes. This system lets you tailor each Animon to your preferred playstyle β whether you want powerful tanks, fast sweepers, or balanced fighters.

Stat | DESCRIPTION |
|---|---|
Health | How much damage the Animon can take before fainting. |
Attack | Power of physical moves. |
Special Attack | Power of elemental / non-physical moves. |
Agility | Determines turn order and slightly affects accuracy / evasion. |
Defence | Resistance to physical attacks. |
Special Defence | Resistance to elemental / non-physical attacks. |
You can upgrade existing skills or teach new ones using items found in the world or crafted at fountains. In battle, choose which skills each Animon uses for maximum strategy.

Evolving
Most Animon evolve around level 20 (starters especially). Evolution greatly increases stats and unlocks stronger abilities and new forms. Some require higher levels, items, or specific conditions.
Patience
Early bosses are challenging and may need retries. You will face defeats, but you can always try again once your Animons get stronger.
💡 Tip
Tip: Farm wild Animon to level up, scan enemies for weaknesses, and pick the best team composition. Take your time β building a balanced team early makes everything easier.
