Blades of Mirage Turns Water Into a Weapon in This Southeast Asian Action RPG
Agate and Red Dunes Games bring Mira's water-forged blades to Summer Game Fest 2026, an isometric action RPG steeped in Southeast Asian myth.
Blades of Mirage is an isometric action RPG developed by Indonesian studio Agate in co-development with Abu Dhabi-based Red Dunes Games. It was showcased during the Summer Game Fest 2026 season as part of various indie presentations.
You play as Mira, a teenage girl on a journey of self-discovery. When the Nightmare Lord abducts her adoptive mother to awaken an ancient evil, Mira travels across a vibrant Southeast Asian-inspired archipelago filled with islands, ancient ruins, and mythical creatures.
Core Gameplay#
The standout feature is Mira’s fluid water-manipulation combat system. She can shape water into different weapons and forms on the fly: blades for melee combos, ranged projectiles, hammers, and more; allowing players to adapt their approach mid-fight against various enemies. The game blends fast-paced action with exploration, light puzzle-solving, and environmental interactions (including water and sand mechanics).
It features a colorful, anime-tinged art style with strong Balinese and broader Southeast Asian cultural influences, aiming for a heartfelt adventure full of heart rather than pure grimdark tones.
Development & Release#
This is a true co-development project that pairs Agate’s artistic and regional expertise with Red Dunes Games’ global publishing support.
Blades of Mirage is confirmed for PC via Steam, where it is currently listed as “Coming Soon.” No firm release window has been announced yet (some older listings pointed to late 2026, but this remains unconfirmed).
