BrokenLore: Don't Lie brings Tokyo psychological horror to Summer Game Fest 2026
Serafini Productions' hyperreal spin-off makes every lie warp the world around its medicated, unreliable heroine.
The most unsettling aspect of BrokenLore: Don't Lie is that you cannot trust your own narrator. Revealed during The MIX Summer Game Showcase, the indie-focused digital event held as part of Summer Game Fest 2026 week, this psychological horror title from Tokyo-based Serafini Productions places players inside the mind of Junko, a reclusive young woman.
Her isolated apartment life, uneasy phone calls, and heavy reliance on medication gradually unravel into warped liminal spaces and stalking hallucinations.
Core Mechanic: Lies and Mental State#
The core mechanic revolves around deception. Every conversation and every lie influences Junko's mental state. Her deteriorating headspace is what blurs the boundary between reality and the horrors pursuing her through the hallway.
Visuals and Gameplay Loop#
The game unfolds in first-person perspective with a hyperrealistic visual style that progressively glitches and mutates as Junko's psychological breakdown intensifies.
Gameplay blends exploration of claustrophobic environments with stealth, combat, and occasional retro side-scrolling segments for added variety.
Connection to the BrokenLore Series#
BrokenLore: Don't Lie serves as a longer and darker spin-off of Serafini's earlier title DON'T WATCH, expanding the wider BrokenLore series. It is co-published with horror specialists Wired Productions.
A Steam demo is already available for players wanting to sample the experience ahead of launch.
Platforms and Release#
The game is confirmed for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. No specific release date has been announced yet.
This latest entry builds on the series' reputation for tackling themes of mental health, isolation, and distorted perception through immersive horror. Fans of atmospheric psychological dread should keep an eye on this one.
