Dungeon Lurker drags the roguelike back to the age of 256-color cursed crawls
3AM Games turns Summer Game Fest 2026 into a descent through a cursed dungeon dressed in deliberately ugly 1990s 3D.
Some games chase fidelity. Dungeon Lurker runs the other way, straight into the murk. Revealed at The MIX Summer Game Showcase during Summer Game Fest 2026, the new action roguelike from 13AM Games (the studio behind Dawn of the Monsters) leans hard into a 256-color, early-3D look that feels ripped from a forgotten 1990s manual.
All jagged textures and queasy atmosphere, this is a deliberate choice. The hook is that this roguelike wants to feel cursed.
Dark Fantasy Setup and Combat#
The setup is classic dark fantasy. You descend into an infested dungeon, carving through monstrous creatures while chasing a sinister secret tied to your past. A DARKLORD waits somewhere at the bottom.
Combat is real-time and twitchy. It asks you to move, attack, dodge, and juggle spells and potions as the threats escalate.

Roguelike Progression#
True to the genre, death is a teacher. Each run promises new items, hidden paths, and secrets. Surfacing between descents gives you the moment to upgrade weapons, magic, and charms before diving back in.
13AM is promising over 30 unique levels to conquer.
Platforms and Release#
Dungeon Lurker is confirmed for PC via Steam, where it is available to wishlist now. The studio is targeting a release in the first quarter of 2027.
With its unsettling retro style and tight action roguelike loop, Dungeon Lurker looks like a strong pick for fans of atmospheric dungeon crawling and punishing runs.
